Transformation of subject in nature. At the beginning of this year, there was a looming feeling of claustrophobia which only grew stronger as the COVID-19 pandemic took hold and disrupted our lives. Through these images, I hope to use nature to express that feeling of transformation, confusion, and self-reflection, as our lives have transitioned from the outdoors to the indoors.
Nature began to blend with and be confined by the manmade as we began to adjust to this new lifestyle. Outings became less frequent, but perhaps with a greater appreciation for these environments.
For many, natural elements became supplements to a year of life where all work and play remains isolated and indoors. Perhaps replicating outdoor nature helps maintain positivity and routine with brightening rays of hope as the months progress, but a cloud of confusion and uncertainty remains.
